Garg Aviation’s trainer aircraft crashes in Kanpur, 2 killed

NEW DELHI: A training aircraft belonging to Kanpur’s Garg Aviation crashed on Thursday, killing two — the trainer and trainee pilots — on board. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation said in a statement the Tecnam P2006T twin-engine aircraft (VT-NBV) crashed about five nautical miles from Kanpur Civil Airport, near Ganga Barrage.“The aircraft was on a training flight in the local flying area of Kanpur Civil Airport. There were two persons on board, a trainee pilot and an instructor. Both sustained fatal injuries in the accident. A team of three officials from the DGCA is proceeding to the site for necessary regulatory oversight and coordination,” said the DGCA statement.
