Ather Energy has launched the new 450X Overtones Series in India, bringing cosmetic updates and a faster charging solution to its popular electric scooter. Priced from Rs 1.57 lakh, ex-showroom, for the base variant, the updated model gets three new colour options, a more powerful charger and the latest Atherstack software features, while the mechanical package remains unchanged.The biggest visual update comes in the form of the new Overtones Series, which introduces three fresh paint schemes: Still White, Space Grey and Lunar Grey. Buyers opting for these new colour schemes will have to pay an additional Rs 1,000.Apart from the new colours, Ather has also upgraded the standard charger. The scooter now comes with a 900W charger instead of the earlier 700W unit. The company claims the new charger can reduce charging time by nearly 30 percent.The 450X Overtones Series also comes equipped with the latest Atherstack 7 software platform. It features Voice on Ather, which allows riders to use voice commands for functions such as navigation, locating charging stations and adjusting display brightness. The software also introduces several new safety features, including CrashAlert, which detects an accident and automatically sends a text message to emergency contacts, ParkSafe, which warns users when parking in theft-prone or towing zones, and LockSafe, which lets owners remotely immobilise the scooter’s motor through the Ather app.Ather has also highlighted its Halo smart helmet ecosystem, which integrates the rider’s phone, scooter dashboard and helmet to enable hands-free communication and audio functions.Mechanically, the scooter remains unchanged. The update is limited to cosmetic enhancements, software improvements and faster charging, with no changes made to the powertrain or performance specifications.
