NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday registered an FIR in connection with the death of Disha Salian, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, following an order of the Bombay high court.The FIR names several individuals whose roles have been listed for investigation, including Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, Rohan Roy, actors Dino Morea and Sooraj Pancholi, Aaditya’s bodyguards, Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, former police officer Sachin Vaze, former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh, DCP Vishal Thakur and former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.The document also names former state home minister Anil Deshmukh, several police officers, forensic officials, doctors and other individuals.“The then chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, father of Aaditya Thackeray, and others also played a significant role in the conspiracy and subsequent cover-up. The concerned public servants and police officers are also liable to be investigated for destruction or suppression of case papers, files and other public records, fabrication of official records, and misuse of public funds, manpower and police machinery for unlawful purposes and for shielding the offenders,” the FIR stated.The FIR said the listed individuals would be investigated in connection with the alleged principal offences, criminal conspiracy, the “subsequent creation and propagation of the false suicide story” and the alleged suppression, destruction or fabrication of evidence.It also named officers associated with Malvani Police Station, doctors and staff involved in the post-mortem, officials of the Forensic Science Laboratory in Kalina, security guards of Regent Galaxy Building, members of the special investigation team and other unidentified persons.Bombay HC orders CBI probeEarlier this month, the Bombay high court ordered a CBI investigation into Salian’s death and criticised the Mumbai Police for failing to register an FIR for six years.The court observed that the police investigation “raises more questions than answers”. The bench also questioned the decision to treat the case only as an accidental death and pointed to “glaring discrepancies” in the investigation.Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a residential building in Mumbai’s Malad area. Mumbai Police had registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the case.Salian had briefly worked as Sushant’s manager. The actor was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020, six days after Salian’s death.The proximity of the two deaths triggered widespread speculation about a possible link, although the cases were investigated separately.Following the public uproar over Rajput’s death, the Maharashtra government ordered a CBI probe. The agency later submitted a closure report stating that Rajput had died by suicide. The report, however, is yet to be heard by the court concerned.

Earlier, Salian’s father, Satish Salian, had accused Aaditya Thackeray and actor Dino Morea in connection with his daughter’s death.Speaking to ANI on Friday, Satish Salian said he had told investigators what he knew about the events surrounding his daughter’s death and provided names of several individuals whom he wanted authorities to examine.“I stated the facts exactly as they were; I told them everything that happened to my daughter. I listed all the names: Aditya, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and the bodyguards. They noted everything down. They said they would take action based on what I told them; the proceedings would begin in a few days,” he said.“The truth cannot be defeated. God stands where the truth is; that is why justice will be served,” he added. Mumbai Police had earlier maintained, after its inquiry, that Salian had died by suicide.
