Kochi: Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim has said he does not agree with every view of All-India Sunni Jemiyyathul Ulema general secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar, whom he is scheduled to visit in Kozhikode Sunday.Kanthapuram’s recent statement that women should remain confined to their homes had resulted in a backlash. Asked about his stand during an interview with NDTV, the Malaysian PM said Kanthapuram was a traditional Islamic scholar and also ran a college for women, so he was not terribly worried when looking at the full context. However, Ibrahim said, if he was asked, he would certainly say in Malaysia, women have equal rights.
