NEW DELHI: Posters portraying Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the “real-life Batman” have been put up outside the Congress headquarters in Delhi.The posters feature the message, “The silent guardian, a watchful protector. LoP Rahul Gandhi, the real life batman.”Earlier this month, Rahul Gandhi launched an “Ask Me Anything” session inviting young people to question him on topics ranging from student protests and education to politics and philosophy. Announcing the initiative on X, Gandhi wrote, “Students, Gen-Z — I’m here to listen.Ask me anything on Instagram, and I’ll answer as many questions as I can.” One of the questions asked, “Are you Batman?” Gandhi appeared to play along with the long-running social media meme comparing him to the fictional superhero.“Let’s just say that no one has ever seen me and Batman in the same room together,” Rahul replied.The Congress later shared video clips featuring several of Rahul’s responses from the session. Rahul Gandhi also posted a video of himself standing in the rain with the theme music from The Dark Knight playing in the background, further fueling the Batman reference that gained attention on social media.

Rahul Gandhi’s outreach to Gen Z comes as political leaders increasingly use social media platforms to engage with younger audiences and expand their digital reach.Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi staged a five-hour protest outside the Parliament Street Police Station on Friday, demanding an FIR and justice for 19-year-old Sahil Lochab, who suffered pellet injuries during a police crackdown at the July 20 student protest at Jantar Mantar.Rahul arrived at the police station around 11.30 am with Lochab, his mother and their lawyer, and was later joined by Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other party leaders. He also met the Deputy Commissioner of Police and other senior officers at the DCP office in Connaught Place.The Delhi Police subsequently registered a case in connection with the incident.
